Anomaly
Rice Krispies Treats®

2 to 4 tbsp stick margarine
1 package (10 oz) miniature marshmallows
6 cups Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal

Because I don't like to spend a lot of time on cleanup, and because I only have an 8-cup (2-liter) mixing bowl, I make Rice Krispies Treats in two batches like so:

1. Coat two (glass) square baking dishes with margarine or non-stick spray. Measure and set aside two 3-cup portions of cereal. Tear off two sheets of wax paper large enough to cover your baking dishes, with an inch or two of overlap on each side.

2. Combine half the butter and half the package of marshmallows in a glass, microwave-safe mixing bowl. Heat on HIGH for 90 seconds. Stir a few times, preferably with a large metal serving spoon, until the mixture is smooth.

3. Working quickly, stir in 3 cups of cereal, evenly coating cereal with the warm marshmallow mixture. Enjoy straight from the mixing bowl warm -or- Pour into baking dish and use the sheet of wax paper to press down the mixture into the dish. Cover with the sheet of wax paper. When cool, cut into squares.

Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to make the second batch.

Notes

I use Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal, Kraft Jet-Puffed Miniature Marshmallows, and Parkay margarine.

For easy cleanup, just fill the glass mixing bowl with warm, soapy water, toss in the spoon, and let soak for a few minutes.

Alternate spellings: rice crispies treats, rice crispy treats, rice krispy treats
